Notification of changes to the investment policy of Franklin Templeton Funds
We have received notification from Franklin Templeton Shariah Funds (the “Company”) of changes to the investment policy of a number of their funds. These changes will take effect 24 February 2024 (the "Effective Date")
The Funds can be found in our defined fund range products Regular Savings Plan (including Malaysia variants), Oracle, Paragon, Quantum (including Malaysia variants), LifePlan, Protected Lifestyle and Kudos.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES
As of the Effective Date, the Company has notified us of amendments to the investment policies of the Franklin Global Sukuk A Acc USD and Templeton Shariah Global Equity A Acc USD;
Franklin Global Sukuk A Acc USD
The amendment to the investment policy for Franklin Global Sukuk Fund is to enable the investment manager to invest in Shariah compliant contingent convertible securities. As of the Effective Date the investment policy will be updated to include the following:
“For the purpose of this Fund, Sukuk may include contingent convertible securities, subject to a maximum of 10% of the Fund's net assets.”
The amendment will have no impact on the way the Franklin Global Sukuk Fund is managed or its risk profile.
Templeton Shariah Global Equity A Acc USD
The amendments to the investment policy of Templeton Shariah Global Equity Fund are to enable the investment manager to invest in Shariah compliant Real Estate Investment Trust (REITs). As of the Effective Date the investment policy will be updated to add the following underlined text:
“The Fund may also invest in (i) REITs and (ii) up to 10% of its net assets in China A-Shares (through Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect or Shenzhen-Hong King Stock Connect) and in China B-Shares.”
In addition the risk factor “Risk Assets risk” will be included to the other risks that may be relevant to the Templeton Shariah Global Equity Fund.
The amendment will have no impact on the way the Templeton Shariah Global Equity Fund is managed or its risk profile.
