Tim Kneale crowned Sportsman of the Year
RL360 Quantum sponsored athlete Tim Kneale has been crowned Sportsman of the Year at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.
The double trap shooter, who is the current World Record Holder, was awarded the accolade at an awards ceremony held at the Villa Marina, in Douglas, Isle of Man, last night (23 March 2016). He fought off competition from cyclists Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh, as well as European under-21 snooker champion Darryl Hill and Enduro riders Daniel McCanney, Jamie McCanney and David Knight.
The sponsorship deal with Tim will see RL360 Quantum provide him with financial backing as he prepares for the Olympic Games, to be held in Rio this summer.
Tim, who was born and grew up in the Isle of Man, where RL360’s head office is based, is the current Double Trap World Record holder, and is rated number 2 in the world in the International Shooting Sport Federation (“ISSF”) rankings. He will represent Team GB at the Double Trap shooting event, having previously won Individual Silver at the 2015 World Shotgun Championships and Bronze at 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
