We’re accepting even more scanned documents

We are extending the number of processes where we will accept scanned instructions, to include requests for withdrawals, surrenders, assignments and all RL360 trust documents (which includes RL360 Services).

Earlier this year we changed and simplified our requirements on accepting scanned versions of documents for new business applications and most policy servicing tasks. This was so successful we have decided to extend it out further*.

 

Currently you email us scanned withdrawal, surrender, assignment forms and RL360 trust documents but we also require you to send us the original versions of these documents by courier and post. This requirement has been removed with immediate effect.

 

It will make for a faster, easier, cheaper and less bureaucratic service.

 

We reserve the right to request original documents in some circumstances – for example if the scanned version is not of a high enough quality for us to use, so these must be retained in your records. In addition, we will carry out random telephone checks as part of our continued commitment to fraud prevention.

 

Please note, signatures included on scanned applications and supporting documentation must be original, we cannot accept electronic signatures.

 

*This extension does not apply where the plan owner is resident in Africa. We will still require original signatures for withdrawal, surrender and assignment documents in these cases.
